Jalisco Tortilla Factory is a family-owned and operated business that takes pride in our heritage and our community. The driving force behind this Family-Owned and Operated business is our mom, Maggie Velasco-Lucero. Together with her partner, Medardo “Eddie” Lucero, they have been examples to everyone in our family by demonstrating that hard work and perseverance can pay off.
Both Maggie and Eddie migrated here from Mexico and both became citizens of the United States years ago. In early 1997, they began to put together a plan to bring fresh tortilla products to the local community. In 1998, they officially opened the doors to Tortilleria Jalisco (Jalisco Tortilla Factory). Although Maggie and Eddie struggled for many years to get their small tortilla business off the ground, they put everything on the line to ensure the survival of this small business in a highly competitive market place.
Together, with the help and support of their kids, friends, and overwhelming community support, Maggie and Eddie have persevered. August 2017 they celebrated their 20th year in business. They attribute their success to hard work, sacrifice, and their faith. They have never forgotten where they’ve come from and have always been gracious with product donations and financial donations to the local community and schools. They have spent more than 30 years in the community contributing their time and energy as business owners and as loyal citizens of the Shelton community.
We are proud of our heritage and proud to be a part of this culturally diverse community. We appreciate the support of our customers and will continue to give back to the local community by donating our time and resources.
We hope that you enjoy our fresh products and that you will share them with your friends, family and loved ones. Jalisco Tortilla Factory will continue to dedicate ourselves to producing high quality products with the freshness you expect.
